In a country with a high HIV/AIDS prevalence rate, there exists an urgent need to raise awareness among communities of the dangers of the disease, and to give them the information and the tools they need to deal with the effects and battle the causes of HIV and AIDS.

The easiest way to do this is to get people talking, spreading qualified information through word of mouth.

Tanzed works with local organisations and health professionals to deliver seminars to pupils, teachers, parents and members of the community utilising the Stepping Stones programme, education through drama and child-counselling sessions.

The HIV/AIDS programme also addresses life skills issues and has, so far, reached in excess of 3000 children within the communities.
